A contract opportunity is available for a qualified Teacher for the Visually Impaired to support students at a school located in Arlington, TX. This role focuses on delivering specialized instruction tailored to the unique needs of visually impaired students, fostering their academic and social development within the educational setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction and support to students with visual impairments, adapting materials and teaching strategies accordingly.
  • Collaborate with educators and support staff to implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Conduct consultations, including approximately 20 minutes every six weeks, to support instructional staff and enhance student outcomes.
  • Manage and incorporate an additional 40 minutes of compensatory services into the student's schedule following the annual ARD meeting in December.
  • Utilize assessments and observation data to monitor progress and adjust instructional approaches.
  • Attend and contribute to team meetings and ARD/IEP conferences as needed.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Certification and experience as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired.
  • Strong knowledge of instructional methods, materials, and assistive technologies relevant to visually impaired learners.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Prior experience working in school settings is preferred.

Location and Schedule Details:

  • Position based in Arlington, TX, with some engagement involving the South campus in Fort Worth.
  • Contract role starting immediately with commitment through December 6th, 2025.
