Desired Qualifications:

• Valid state certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired
• Experience working with children and adolescents in educational settings
• Proficiency in Braille, accessible technology, and adaptive instructional strategies
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with students, families, and school staff
• Flexibility, creativity, and a compassionate approach to individualized instruction

Responsibilities:

• Deliver tailored instructional services to meet the unique needs of students with visual impairments
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
• Instruct and assess students in Braille, orientation and mobility, and the use of assistive technology devices
• Advocate for accessible learning environments and provide consultation to staff and families
• Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices in the field
• Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports for each student
