Opportunity for a Teacher of the Visually Impaired to serve K-12 students in the Denver area for the 2026-2027 school year. This onsite contract position is based in Arvada, CO, with assignments potentially spanning multiple schools within the district. The exact caseload and number of campuses assigned will be determined closer to the start of the school year.
Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and support for students with visual impairments.
- Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students' unique needs.
- Collaborate with educators, families, and support staff to enhance student learning.
- Utilize assistive technologies and adaptive strategies to improve access to curriculum.
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports.
- Participate in ongoing team meetings and professional development.
Qualifications:
- Active State-issued certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired.
- Successful completion of background checks and fingerprinting per district requirements.
- Experience working with students with visual impairments preferred.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work onsite in the Denver area throughout the school year.
- Flexibility regarding full-time or part-time assignments based on district needs.
