Embark on a meaningful contract opportunity as a dedicated educator supporting students with visual impairments in a district-based setting near Arvada, CO. This full-time role spans from July 31, 2026, through May 26, 2027, with the chance to make a significant impact across a variety of educational environments and age groups, from early childhood through high school.

Qualifications & Preferred Experience:

  • Active Colorado DOE certification with an endorsement for “Special Education Specialist – Visual Impairment (ages 0-21)” (required).
  • Master’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution in special education focusing on visual impairment, or equivalent.
  • Ability to complete all time-sensitive credentialing requirements, including district background check and fingerprinting.
  • Orientation & Mobility (O&M) Certification is preferred and will be prioritized.
  • Prior experience delivering services to students with visual impairments highly valued.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct and interpret a range of vision assessments and contribute to eligibility determinations for educational disability services.
  • Develop individualized education plans and deliver vision-specific instruction tailored to each learner’s needs.
  • Teach independence, orientation, mobility, and essential life skills to students with visual impairments and multiple disabilities.
  • Adapt educational materials and environments to ensure accessibility.
  • Collaborate closely with school teams, families, and district personnel to align with district priorities and student success.
  • Maintain all compliance, documentation, and professional requirements.
