Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction tailored to the individualized education plan (IEP) for a 6th-grade student with visual impairments
• Conduct two individual, half-hour teaching sessions each month
• Work closely with classroom teachers and educational staff to implement accommodations and foster accessibility
• Ensure all curriculum materials and activities are adaptable and accessible for the student’s needs
• Provide expert consultation on assistive technology and other accessibility solutions
• Monitor progress and communicate regularly with the school team about the student’s vision-related requirements
• Maintain compliance with IEP service mandates and related accommodations

Qualifications:

• Valid Georgia Professional Standards Commission (PSC) certification with a Vision Impairment/TVI endorsement
• Experience working in K-12 settings with visually impaired students preferred
• Strong collaboration and communication skills for teamwork with educators and support staff
• Expertise in assistive technology and strategies for students with visual disabilities
