Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students with visual impairments for the 2026–2027 school year. Work onsite in a vibrant educational setting, delivering specialized instruction and services tailored for a caseload of approximately eight students. With a schedule of 15 hours per week, you’ll provide a mix of weekly, monthly, and quarterly support to help students access their curriculum and achieve their educational goals.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Current Washington Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) Certification required
  • Completion of fingerprinting process through OSPI is mandatory before start
  • Demonstrated experience or strong working knowledge in supporting K-12 students who are visually impaired
  • Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Solid communication and collaboration skills when working with students, families, and educational staff
  • Adaptability and creativity in modifying teaching strategies and materials

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction based on each student’s needs as outlined in their IEPs
  • Consult with classroom teachers and staff to facilitate accessible learning environments
  • Conduct assessments, progress monitoring, and timely documentation of student performance
  • Recommend, adapt, and implement assistive technology and materials
  • Serve as an advocate and mentor for students, helping build confidence and independence
  • Engage in regular communication with families and multidisciplinary teams
