Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Valid State certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
• Experience working with K–12 students with visual impairments preferred
• Proficiency in Braille and assistive technology for visually impaired learners
• Strong collaboration and communication skills
• Ability to develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs)
• Compassionate approach and problem-solving mindset

Core Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct instruction to students with visual impairments, adapting lessons as needed
• Conduct functional vision, learning media, and assistive technology assessments
• Consult and collaborate with classroom teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers
• Prepare adapted materials and resources to support student access to curriculum
• Provide training and support to school staff and families
• Maintain documentation and participate in IEP meetings
