A contract opportunity is now available for a dedicated Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to serve schools in the Denver area for the 2026-2027 academic year. This onsite position supports students of all ages and works closely with district staff to empower learners with visual impairments.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Colorado Department of Education (CDE) Certification required
- Experience as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired in K-12 settings preferred
- Familiarity with a wide range of assistive technology for visual impairments
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, families, and staff
- Commitment to fostering independence and confidence in students with visual challenges
- Ability to manage multiple assignments across schools as caseloads and locations may vary
- Willingness to complete all district-required credentialing, including background check and fingerprinting
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction and support to students with visual impairments
- Collaborate with educators, administrators, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Conduct assessments and make recommendations for accommodations and adaptive materials
- Teach students skills to access curriculum and navigate the school environment successfully
- Provide professional guidance and resources to staff and families
