TVI - Aurora, Colorado

A fulfilling opportunity awaits an experienced Teacher for the Visually Impaired, supporting students across a diverse school district near the Aurora, CO area. This full-time, onsite contract spans the 2026–2027 academic year, with assignment beginning July 31, 2026 and concluding May 26, 2027. As a district-based provider, you’ll work with students from early childhood through high school, adapting to various locations and caseload needs.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Active Colorado Department of Education certificate with an endorsement in Special Education Specialist – Visual Impairment (ages 0-21)
• Master’s degree (or higher) in Special Education Visual Impairment or equivalent
• Prior experience working with students with visual impairments, ages 0–21
• Orientation and Mobility (O&M) Certification is advantageous but not required
• Ability to complete district-required background checks and fingerprinting

Core Responsibilities:

• Assess students’ functional vision and develop comprehensive, individualized educational plans
• Provide specialized instruction in vision, orientation, and mobility, including support for students who are blind, deaf-blind, or have additional disabilities
• Adapt curriculum materials and learning environments to ensure accessibility and student engagement
• Coordinate and communicate with families, school staff, and district personnel regarding student progress and resource needs
• Maintain accurate documentation and comply with all district policies and regulatory requirements
• Demonstrate professional flexibility, serving various schools as assigned within the district
