Empower students with visual impairments to access their education and achieve their goals in a rewarding, part-time contract position supporting learners from elementary to middle school. Located near Aurora, IL, this onsite opportunity allows you to make a real difference for a diverse caseload in an itinerant capacity, providing critical instructional support, advocacy, and resources across multiple campuses throughout the school year.

You’ll work collaboratively with educational teams and families to develop and implement individualized strategies that facilitate student success and foster independence.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) endorsement
  • Previous experience working with students who are visually impaired, preferably within a school setting
  • Strong understanding of adaptive curriculum, assistive technology, and accessibility best practices
  • Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills to collaborate with staff, students, and families
  • Capability to travel between campuses as needed for an itinerant assignment

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct and consultative instructional support to students with visual impairments, tailoring interventions to each student’s unique needs
  • Assess and monitor student progress, participating in IEP meetings, and recommending appropriate accommodations and modifications
  • Provide training and guidance to educators and support staff on best practices and use of assistive technology
  • Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages student confidence and independence
  • Maintain accurate documentation of services, interventions, and progress
