Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Valid certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education, Visual Disabilities, or related field
• Experience developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Proficiency in teaching Braille and use of assistive technology for the visually impaired
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with students, families, and staff
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment

Responsibilities & Key Duties:

• Deliver direct and consultative instructional services to students with visual impairments across various grade levels
• Conduct assessments to determine students’ needs and modify curriculum accordingly
• Develop and monitor IEP goals in partnership with multidisciplinary teams
• Train and support classroom teachers and staff in accommodations and accessibility tools
• Engage with families to ensure continuity of support and progress outside the classroom
• Adapt instructional materials and environments for optimal accessibility
