Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver tailored instructional materials and adapted curricula for students with visual impairments
• Assess student needs and collaborate with educational teams to design effective Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Teach Braille, orientation and mobility skills, and use of assistive technology
• Offer guidance to classroom teachers, staff, and families on best practices for inclusion and accessibility
• Monitor student progress and adjust strategies as needed to ensure continued success
• Maintain accurate records and comply with state and federal regulations

Preferred Qualifications:

• Valid state teaching certification in Visual Impairment or related specialty
• Previous experience as a teacher for the visually impaired preferred, though not required
• Proficiency with various adaptive technologies and Braille instruction
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams
