Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting students with visual impairments for the upcoming 2026–2027 school year! Shape inclusive learning as an onsite Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) just outside Bellevue, WA. This contract position offers specialized instruction and advocacy for a caseload of eight students across varying support levels.

As a valued educator, you'll play a pivotal role in enhancing students’ independence and access to curriculum, collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams and families. Your expertise will directly impact students’ confidence, skills, and educational journeys.

What we’re looking for:

  • Active Washington State certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
  • Completed fingerprinting and clearance through OSPI required prior to start
  • Strong understanding of orientation and mobility needs, adaptive technology, and Braille literacy
  • Previous experience serving students with visual impairments in a school setting preferred
  • Excellent collaboration skills and the ability to tailor instruction to meet diverse IEP requirements
  • Commitment to delivering on-site services (no remote work allowed for this role)

Core responsibilities:

  • Provide direct and consultative services to a caseload of approximately eight students, in accordance with their IEPs, for approximately 15 hours per week
  • Develop individualized instructional plans targeting accessible curriculum, daily living skills, and use of assistive tech
  • Conduct regular assessments and maintain clear documentation of student goals and progress
  • Partner with general education staff, related service providers, and families to foster an inclusive, supportive environment
  • Participate in IEP meetings and advocate for appropriate accommodations and modifications
