Desired Qualifications:

• Valid teaching certification, including appropriate endorsement for teaching students with visual impairments
• Proven experience working with visually impaired children within an educational context
• Strong knowledge of Braille, assistive technologies, and adaptive instructional strategies
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Flexibility and adaptability to meet diverse student needs
• Commitment to ongoing professional growth

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction to students with visual impairments, tailored to their unique learning styles and goals
• Assess student progress and adjust lessons based on individual needs and IEPs
• Collaborate with general education teachers, families, and other support staff to ensure accessible learning environments
• Provide training and support to faculty on the use of assistive technology and modifications
• Advocate for inclusion and ensure students have full access to curriculum and extracurricular activities
• Maintain accurate records, documentation, and data collection as required
