Teacher of Visually Impaired - Binghamton, NY

Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid state certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
• Previous experience working with students with visual impairments preferred
• Comprehensive knowledge of Braille, assistive technologies, and adaptive curriculum strategies
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Commitment to individualized instruction and inclusive educational practices

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction to students with visual impairments in accordance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Develop and adapt curriculum materials to meet diverse student needs
• Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, staff, and families to support student achievement
• Assess progress and adjust teaching strategies as needed for optimal learning outcomes
• Advocate for students and educate peers about visual impairment awareness
