Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Visual Impairment, Special Education, or related field

  • Strong knowledge of Braille, assistive technology, and accessible instructional methods
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with students, staff, and families

Position Responsibilities:

  • Assess student needs and create individualized education plans (IEPs) focused on visual impairment considerations
  • Deliver direct instructional services, both one-on-one and in group settings, utilizing specialized materials and methods
  • Teach Braille, orientation and mobility, self-advocacy, and adaptive technology skills
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and family members to promote inclusion and academic achievement
  • Provide training and consultation for school staff regarding accommodations and best practices
  • Maintain detailed documentation in compliance with all state, federal, and school policies
