An Early Childhood school in Brooklyn, NY is seeking a skilled educator specializing in visual impairments to support a newly enrolled kindergarten student. This contract position is for the current school year, providing direct instruction and consultation services to ensure the student's successful integration and learning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver 1 hour per day of specialized instruction tailored to the needs of a visually impaired kindergarten student.
- Conduct 2 hours per week of consultation with the classroom teacher to collaborate on strategies, accommodations, and support.
- Develop individualized lesson plans to enhance the student's access to the curriculum.
- Monitor and assess the student's progress regularly to adapt teaching methods accordingly.
- Utilize assistive technology and materials designed for visual impairments.
- Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment that encourages student independence.
