In this full-time, contract position, you’ll provide essential support for PreK-12th grade students, delivering specialized instruction and advocacy in an inclusive educational environment. This role begins as soon as possible and extends through May 2027, offering both stability and a chance to build strong, lasting connections with your students and colleagues.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Current certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
  • Experience working with students who are blind or visually impaired, ideally across multiple grade levels
  • Familiarity with assistive technology and adaptive tools for visually impaired learners
  • Strong collaboration skills, working alongside general educators, service providers, and families
  • Ability to assess student needs and develop customized education plans
  • Passionate advocacy for students’ accessibility and equitable learning opportunities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct and consultative services to students with visual impairments from PreK through 12th grade
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s abilities
  • Coordinate and provide orientation and mobility training as needed
  • Collaborate with school staff to adapt curriculum and classroom materials
  • Monitor student progress, maintain clear records, and communicate with families
  • Stay current on best practices, AT devices, and educational resources for visual impairment
