What we’re looking for:

• Certification or endorsement as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
• Experience working with students with visual impairments in educational environments
• Strong understanding of Braille, assistive technology, and orientation/mobility instruction
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to adapt lessons and curricula to meet individual student needs
• Dedication to fostering inclusion and developing student self-advocacy

Your daily responsibilities:

• Assess student abilities and create individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Provide direct instruction in Braille, assistive technology, and compensatory skills
• Collaborate with general education teachers to modify learning materials and classroom environments
• Support families through resources and effective communication
• Partner with related service providers and multidisciplinary teams for comprehensive support
• Monitor student progress and maintain detailed records
