Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative instructional services to students with visual impairments, ensuring access to core curriculum and adapted materials.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to determine students’ functional vision and needs.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, families, and other teachers.
- Provide orientation and mobility training or collaborate with specialists as needed.
- Train staff and caregivers on strategies and assistive technology that support students’ success.
- Regularly monitor and report on student progress, making data-driven recommendations for interventions or modifications.
- Stay informed about best practices, legal regulations, and current research in the field of visual impairment education.
