Qualifications:
- Valid certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Experience providing direct instruction and support to K-12 students with visual impairments
- Strong understanding of adaptive technology, Braille instruction, and assistive devices
- Exceptional communication and teamwork skills for collaborating with educators, support staff, and families
- Ability to assess student needs and develop individualized plans for success
Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instructional services and interventions to students with visual impairments in individual, small group, and classroom settings
- Consult with teachers and staff to adapt curriculum and classroom materials for accessibility
- Assess student progress, create and implement Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals, and maintain accurate documentation
- Provide training and guidance on the use of assistive technology to both students and staff
- Advocate for student needs and foster inclusive, supportive learning environments
