Qualifications & Preferred Experience:

  • Valid DOE certification
  • Experience as a TVI and strong knowledge of Braille
  • Familiarity with assistive technology (ideally including Federal Quota program)
  • Competence in using online IEP platforms (preferably TN Pulse)
  • Understanding of Chromebooks and student technology integration
  • Ability to travel between assigned schools
  • Completion of required fingerprint background check

Responsibilities:

  • Provide instructional support to K-12+ students in general and special education
  • Travel on an itinerant basis between schools (schedule and caseload assigned)
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to student plans
  • Use and instruct in assistive technology and Braille
  • Track and support students with multiple disabilities as well as those in standard classrooms
