In this full-time or potentially part-time role, you’ll take on an itinerant caseload across K-12+ settings, with students assigned based on geography to minimize travel time. You’ll divide your expert support between general education classrooms and specialized settings, addressing a range of unique needs and making a lasting impact on students’ daily lives. Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, participate in IEP meetings using the TN Pulse platform, and harness innovative technology—including Braille and assistive technology—to drive student growth and success.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Active DOE certification in Visual Impairment
  • Experience teaching K-12 students with visual impairments
  • Proficiency with Braille and assistive technology (Federal Quota experience a bonus)
  • Comfort working both independently and collaboratively in multiple school settings
  • Must complete fingerprinting per state requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instructional and consultative support to visually impaired students
  • Travel between assigned schools as per a set geographic schedule
  • Collaborate in IEP meetings and maintain thorough documentation using TN Pulse
  • Support both general education and special education staff in accessibility accommodations
  • Assist students in maximizing the use of Chromebooks and other accessible technologies
