Qualifications/Required Experience:

• Current, active Department of Education Certification
• Demonstrated experience as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
• Proficiency with Braille and assistive technology (Federal Quota program a plus)
• Understanding of K-12+ caseloads, spanning general education and multi-disability special classrooms
• Willingness to travel between multiple campuses within the region
• Experience with electronic IEP platforms (TN Pulse desirable)
• Ability to engage in all IEP-related meetings for assigned students
• Must complete comprehensive fingerprinting prior to assignment

Responsibilities:

• Serve itinerant caseloads for students in elementary, middle, and high school
• Consult and collaborate with staff around adaptive materials and technology (Chromebooks)
• Provide direct instructional support, assessment, and advocacy for visually impaired students
• Actively participate in IEP meetings, progress monitoring, and team collaboration
