- Experience supporting school-age children or adolescents with visual impairments
- Familiarity with Braille, assistive technology, and alternative teaching strategies
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities
- Commitment to fostering student growth and independence
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess students to determine instructional and adaptive needs
- Develop and implement individualized lesson plans and strategies
- Consult with classroom teachers, families, and related service providers for optimal student outcomes
- Provide direct specialized instruction in academic and daily living skills
- Adapt educational materials using accessible formats and technology
- Monitor and document student progress, regularly updating goals as necessary
