This contract position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact, working with students in diverse educational settings as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Valid teaching certification in Visual Impairment or eligibility to obtain one
• Experience working with students who are blind or have low vision in an educational environment
• Ability to develop and adapt Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students with visual impairments
• Proficiency in Braille, assistive technology, and orientation and mobility strategies is highly valued
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, families, and staff
• Strong commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess and address the unique educational needs of students with visual impairments
• Provide direct and consultative services to students in various educational settings
• Adapt curriculum materials and instructional techniques for accessibility
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, related service providers, and families to support student success
• Monitor student progress, update IEPs, and document outcomes in compliance with school and district guidelines
• Advocate for accessible environments and promote independence for students
