Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Holds appropriate certification/licensure for teaching students with visual impairments.
  • Previous experience as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired strongly preferred.
  • Ability to collaborate with other educators and support staff.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Committed to creating accessible and engaging learning environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality instruction to students with visual impairments (24 students, ages/grades as assigned).
  • Develop and adapt curriculum materials to meet individual needs.
  • Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, aides, and related service providers.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, progress monitoring, and ongoing communication with families.
  • Provide direct and consultative services during the hours of 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM.
