This full-time contract position runs from August 11, 2026, through May 20, 2027, with standard hours from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Candidates can choose between onsite or virtual work, offering valuable flexibility.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
  • Demonstrated experience in providing instruction to students with visual impairments
  • Proficiency in developing and implementing accommodations and modifications
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with general education and special education teachers
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Familiarity with current technology and resources supporting visually impaired learners

Role Responsibilities:

  • Deliver targeted educational instruction to students with visual impairments across the district
  • Design accessible lesson plans and individualized educational strategies
  • Work closely with both general education and special education faculty to ensure classroom accommodations and modifications are successfully implemented
  • Support students’ progress in accessing curriculum, fostering independence, and enhancing skills for daily living and academics
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and collaborate with IEP teams
  • Stay current with best practices and legal requirements in the field of visual impairment education
