This full-time contract position provides you with the opportunity to utilize your expertise in vision education, collaborating closely with both general and special education teachers. The schedule runs from August 11th, 2026, to May 20th, 2027, with hours from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM each weekday. With a manageable caseload of less than a 1.0 weight, you’ll deliver direct instruction and vital support services, helping students access their curriculum across the district. Key Qualifications:
- Experience as a certified Teacher for the Visually Impaired
- Familiarity with providing instruction and support tailored to students with visual impairments
- Collaboration skills for working alongside general education and special education staff
- Ability to design, implement, and evaluate accommodations and modifications
- Comfort with both onsite and virtual teaching platforms
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct educational instruction to students with visual impairments across various school settings
- Partner with classroom teachers to support the inclusion of effective accommodations and modifications
- Conduct student assessments and maintain documentation in compliance with state and district guidelines
- Serve as a resource for staff regarding strategies and assistive technology relating to visual impairment
- Provide support to families and participate in IEP meetings as needed
