Key Qualifications:
- Valid certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Demonstrated experience in providing instruction to students with visual impairments
- Proficiency in developing and implementing accommodations and modifications
- Ability to collaborate effectively with general education and special education teachers
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Familiarity with current technology and resources supporting visually impaired learners
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver targeted educational instruction to students with visual impairments across the district
- Design accessible lesson plans and individualized educational strategies
- Work closely with both general education and special education faculty to ensure classroom accommodations and modifications are successfully implemented
- Support students’ progress in accessing curriculum, fostering independence, and enhancing skills for daily living and academics
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and collaborate with IEP teams
- Stay current with best practices and legal requirements in the field of visual impairment education
