Make a meaningful impact in the lives of students as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) in the San Antonio area! Two openings are available for dedicated professionals eager to provide both direct and indirect services to students with visual impairments. This contract opportunity is ideal for those passionate about delivering quality educational support while collaborating within dynamic educational teams.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct instructional services to students with visual impairments, tailoring lessons to individual needs
• Provide indirect services, including consultation to staff and preparation of accessible materials
• Conduct specialized assessments such as Functional Vision Evaluations (FVE), Learning Media Assessments (LMA), and Orientation & Mobility (O&M) evaluations
• Attend and participate in ARD (Admission, Review, and Dismissal) meetings, contributing expertise for student success
• Collaborate with educators, administrators, and families to support each student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals

Desired Qualifications & Experience:

• Certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
• Previous experience as a TVI or in a similar special education role
• Strong knowledge of braille, assistive technology, and adaptive instructional strategies
• Ability to work both independently and as an integral part of a multidisciplinary team
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
