Key Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Experience providing direct instructional services to students with visual impairments
- Demonstrated skill in conducting FVE, LMA, and O&M evaluations
- Ability to consult effectively with classroom teachers, support staff, and families
- Familiarity with ARD meetings and IEP processes
- Strong organizational abilities for material preparation and documentation
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and accommodating learning environment
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized direct instruction to students with visual impairments
- Provide indirect consultative services, including guidance for staff and recommendations for accessible materials
- Conduct Functional Vision Evaluations, Learning Media Assessments, and Orientation & Mobility assessments
- Prepare adaptive learning materials to meet student needs
- Attend and actively participate in ARD meetings to ensure students’ educational goals are met
