Qualifications & Experience:
- State certification to teach students with visual impairments (TVI)
- Proven experience or coursework related to working with visually impaired students in educational settings
- Familiarity with IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with families, educators, and support staff
- Ability to modify curriculum and materials based on individual needs
- Knowledge of assistive technology and Braille literacy
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct, individualized instruction to one visually impaired student to enhance learning and independence
- Develop and adapt lesson plans in accordance with IEP goals and state standards
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and other professionals to integrate accommodations and modifications into the general education environment
- Support progress tracking and reporting, maintaining clear and thorough documentation
- Consult with families and team members to promote consistent strategies and reinforcement across settings
