Support students with visual impairments and help shape a more inclusive educational environment as a teacher specializing in services for the visually impaired. This contract opportunity offers you the chance to collaborate within a dedicated school-based team, providing direct instruction and support to students who are blind or have low vision. You’ll be a key advocate for accessible learning and make a meaningful difference every day.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid state certification in Visual Impairment or Blind Education, or eligibility to obtain.
• Proven experience teaching or supporting students with visual impairments (preferred).
• Strong understanding of braille, assistive technology, and adaptive materials.
• Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
• Excellent organizational, communication, and advocacy skills.
• Comfortable working both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess students’ needs and design individualized instructional plans.
• Teach academic content, braille, and skills for independent living to students with visual impairments.
• Collaborate with general and special education staff to adapt curriculum materials.
• Provide consultation and training to staff, students, and families regarding accessibility and technology.
• Maintain thorough documentation and progress reporting on student outcomes.
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute expert recommendations.
