What you'll bring:

• Valid certification (or eligibility) as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired
• Experience working with school-aged children facing visual challenges
• Strong IEP development, implementation, and documentation skills
• Knowledge of accessibility tools and adaptive technology
• Ability to adapt instructional methods to meet unique student needs
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities with parents, teachers, and staff
• Compassion, adaptability, and proactive problem-solving mindset

Your responsibilities:

• Assess student needs and develop appropriate Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Deliver direct and consultative instruction to students with visual impairments in a variety of settings
• Teach orientation and mobility skills when needed, and support learning in the classroom and beyond
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, special educators, and related service providers to increase student access and success
• Provide resources, training, and advocacy for students, families, and staff
• Monitor progress and adjust interventions to maximize student growth and confidence
