Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid state certification in Visual Impairment or Blind Education, or eligibility to obtain.
- Proven experience teaching or supporting students with visual impairments (preferred).
- Strong understanding of braille, assistive technology, and adaptive materials.
- Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
- Excellent organizational, communication, and advocacy skills.
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess students’ needs and design individualized instructional plans.
- Teach academic content, braille, and skills for independent living to students with visual impairments.
- Collaborate with general and special education staff to adapt curriculum materials.
- Provide consultation and training to staff, students, and families regarding accessibility and technology.
- Maintain thorough documentation and progress reporting on student outcomes.
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute expert recommendations.
