Preferred Qualifications:

• State certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
• Experience working with K-12 students who have varying degrees of visual impairment
• Strong understanding of adaptive technology and Braille instruction
• Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with educators, families, and support staff

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct individualized and small group instruction tailored to each student’s needs
• Assess students’ visual abilities and modify curriculum content as appropriate
• Collaborate closely with general education teachers and related service providers
• Advocate for appropriate accommodations, assistive devices, and instructional materials
• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with district and state guidelines
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute informed recommendations for instructional strategies
