What you’ll bring:
- Certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired
- Experience in direct instruction for students with visual impairment
- Proficiency in completing Functional Vision Evaluations (FVE), Learning Media Assessments (LMA), and Orientation & Mobility (O&M) assessments
- Ability to provide both direct and indirect services, including consultation with staff and developing accessible materials
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Previous experience in ARD/IEP meeting participation is a plus
In this role, your key responsibilities will include:
- Delivering individualized instructional sessions to students with visual impairments
- Consulting with teachers and support staff on student needs and accommodations
- Preparing and adapting educational materials for accessibility
- Conducting comprehensive evaluations (FVE, LMA, O&M) to inform educational planning
- Attending ARD meetings to collaborate on setting and reviewing student goals
- Documenting progress and maintaining compliance with relevant guidelines
