Qualifications: • Active Georgia Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) License required • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education, Visual Impairment, or related field • Prior experience working with visually impaired students preferred • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills • Ability to create individualized instructional materials using adaptive technology • Familiarity with IEP development and implementation
Primary Responsibilities: • Provide direct specialized instruction and support to students with visual impairments across various grade levels • Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs • Collaborate with classroom teachers, related service providers, and families to ensure student success and accessibility • Adapt and modify curriculum materials and assessments for accessibility • Utilize and teach assistive technology to enhance student independence • Conduct functional vision assessments and provide recommendations for classroom modifications • Advocate for student needs and foster an inclusive, supportive classroom culture
