Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) | Cumming, Georgia

The assignment runs from July 27th, 2026, to May 25th, 2027, with a part-time schedule averaging about 20 hours per week.

Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education – Visual Impairment (P–12) teaching certificate, OR
• Special Education certificate with a Visual Impairment endorsement
• Demonstrated experience working with students who are visually impaired
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to travel between multiple school locations as needed

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized and group instruction to students with visual impairments, tailored to IEP goals
• Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to support student access to the general curriculum
• Provide direct service, consultation, and instructional strategies for students and educators
• Conduct and interpret functional vision assessments
• Adapt materials and resources for accessibility
• Advise staff on technology and tools that promote participation and inclusivity for visually impaired learners
• Maintain thorough records and contribute to IEP meetings
