Key Qualifications:

• Valid licensure meeting Texas TVI standards
• Experience working as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired in school settings
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with students, teachers, and families
• Ability to create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Organizational skills to manage and track student progress effectively
• Passion for fostering independence and confidence in students with visual impairments

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assume the active caseload of a retiring TVI, providing direct instruction and consultation services
• Conduct assessments and develop tailored instructional strategies for students with visual impairments
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to adapt teaching materials and classroom environments
• Maintain up-to-date records, document progress, and participate in IEP meetings
• Serve as a knowledgeable resource regarding visual impairment within the school community
• Engage students in meaningful learning experiences that support their academic and functional independence
