Bring your expertise as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired to a rewarding, part-time contract role supporting students across multiple school locations near Dahlonega, GA. In this impactful position, you'll collaborate with educators and families to empower students who are visually impaired, ensuring all learners receive the quality education and support they need to thrive.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Hold a valid Special Education – Visual Impairment (P–12) teaching certificate OR A Special Education certificate with a Visual Impairment endorsement
  • Experience working with school-aged children preferred
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams, families, and school staff
  • Ability to adapt lessons and materials to support accessible learning
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive environment for students with visual impairments

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct and consultative services to students with visual impairments across various school settings
  • Assess student needs and develop individualized educational programs (IEPs) focused on visual impairment
  • Collaboratively plan and implement instructional adaptations for curriculum accessibility
  • Serve as a resource for classroom teachers regarding materials, equipment, and teaching strategies
  • Monitor student progress and regularly communicate outcomes to all stakeholders
  • Support families and colleagues by providing training and strategies for effective support

This part-time role provides approximately 20 hours per week during the academic year, from July 27th, 2026, through May 25th, 2027. As you work across a range of locations, you'll experience the variety and fulfillment that comes from making a difference in the lives of students and their communities.
