Qualifications and Skills:

• Valid state certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
• Experience working with K-12 students who are blind or visually impaired
• Strong knowledge of IEP processes and adaptive instructional strategies
• Familiarity with assistive technology for visual impairments (Braille, screen readers, magnification tools)
• Effective communication skills to interact with students, staff, and parents
• Ability to assess student needs and implement individualized plans

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction to visually impaired students in various settings, ensuring access to general education curriculum
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and related service providers to integrate appropriate modifications and accommodations
• Develop and implement IEP goals related to visual impairment
