Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
• Experience or training in Braille and assistive technology for visual impairments
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
• Adaptability and creativity in modifying curriculum and materials for diverse needs
• Commitment to fostering independence and self-advocacy in students
• Previous school-based or pediatric experience is a plus

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction aligned to IEP goals for students with visual impairments
• Assess, plan, and implement individualized educational programs
• Support classroom teachers in adapting materials and teaching strategies
• Teach Braille, orientation and mobility techniques, and daily living skills as needed
• Consult with families, staff, and related service providers to ensure student success
• Track and document student progress, ensuring compliance with all educational regulations
