What you’ll bring to this rewarding role:

• State certification or licensure as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
• Experience supporting students with diverse visual needs in school settings
• Proficiency in Braille instruction and a variety of assistive technology tools
• Strong organizational skills for developing and adapting Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Ability to collaborate with classroom teachers, therapists, and families
• Excellent communication and advocacy skills

Key responsibilities and opportunities include:

• Designing and implementing individualized instruction tailored to each student’s strengths and needs
• Teaching Braille, use of adaptive equipment, orientation and mobility skills, and strategies for independence
• Partnering with multidisciplinary teams to ensure appropriate accommodations and modifications
• Consulting with staff and parents to build understanding and capacity for best practices in visual impairment education
• Monitoring and documenting students’ progress, adjusting support as needed
• Providing guidance during transitions between grade levels or schools
