Step into a dynamic and impactful role supporting students across multiple campuses as a dedicated Teacher for the Visually Impaired. This full-time contract opportunity, spanning the 2026-2027 school year, gives you the ability to make a tangible difference in the lives of students who are visually impaired. You'll work out of a conveniently located administrative office while providing essential itinerant services across 10 campuses near Dallas, TX.

Your expertise in specialized instruction and your commitment to accessibility will ensure every student on your caseload of 25 reaches their fullest potential in an inclusive educational environment.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Texas certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired or eligibility for certification
  • Demonstrated experience working with students who are visually impaired in a school setting
  • Knowledge of current assistive technologies and adaptive instructional strategies
  • Strong communication abilities, with skill in collaborating across multidisciplinary teams
  • Organizational skills for managing itinerant schedules across multiple campuses

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct and consultative services in accordance with students’ educational plans
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, administration, and support staff to foster inclusive practices
  • Conduct functional vision assessments and make recommendations for accommodations
  • Provide orientation, training, and support to staff and families regarding visual impairments
  • Develop, modify, and implement individualized instructional materials and access tools
  • Maintain thorough records and participate in IEP meetings as required
