Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid credential or certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
• Demonstrated experience or training in Braille instruction and adaptive technology for visual impairments
• Solid understanding of IEP process and ability to develop individualized educational plans
• Familiarity with assessments for students with visual impairments
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• Ability to engage creatively with students of differing abilities and backgrounds

Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct instructional services to students with visual impairments across a variety of grade levels
• Adapt and modify curriculum materials into accessible formats, including large print, Braille, and digital resources
• Assess student progress and adjust teaching strategies to address unique learning needs
• Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, related service providers, and families to foster academic and social success
• Support students’ independence and orientation/mobility goals
• Stay current on best practices and educational technologies for students with visual impairments
