Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid teaching credential with a Visually Impaired endorsement or certification (state requirements apply)
• Experience working with students with visual impairments across various age ranges
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
• Skilled in developing and adapting curriculum and using assistive technology
• Ability to design and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Flexible, patient, and creative approach to instruction

Responsibilities:

• Create and adapt lesson plans based on students’ unique needs, focusing on accessibility and skill-building
• Provide direct instruction in core academics, orientation and mobility, and daily living skills
• Assess student progress and update IEP goals in partnership with families and staff
• Foster a supportive educational environment for students and advocate for appropriate accommodations
• Train and support teachers and staff regarding best practices for supporting visually impaired learners
• Maintain timely documentation and communication with team members and families
