Take the next step in your career as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired, working on-site with students throughout the district for the full 2026-2027 school year. This contract position requires an educator with a passion for supporting visually impaired students in diverse educational settings. Unlike remote roles, this opportunity is fully in-person and hands-on, with travel expected between schools and programs within the area.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid teacher certification for Visually Impaired (TVI) required
- Experience supporting students with visual impairments in school settings
- Ability to travel between multiple sites; must have reliable transportation
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Capable of developing and adapting instructional materials for visually impaired students
- Knowledge of current assistive technology and Braille is highly valued
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and adapt curriculum for students with visual impairments
- Assess student needs and progress in collaboration with IEP teams
- Travel to different school sites to deliver direct and consultative services
- Work with classroom teachers and school staff to ensure accessibility and inclusion
- Recommend and support the use of appropriate assistive technologies
- Prepare individualized reports and maintain detailed records
