This contract position requires an educator with a passion for supporting visually impaired students in diverse educational settings. Unlike remote roles, this opportunity is fully in-person and hands-on, with travel expected between schools and programs within the area.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid teacher certification for Visually Impaired (TVI) required
  • Experience supporting students with visual impairments in school settings
  • Ability to travel between multiple sites; must have reliable transportation
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
  • Capable of developing and adapting instructional materials for visually impaired students
  • Knowledge of current assistive technology and Braille is highly valued

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized instruction and adapt curriculum for students with visual impairments
  • Assess student needs and progress in collaboration with IEP teams
  • Travel to different school sites to deliver direct and consultative services
  • Work with classroom teachers and school staff to ensure accessibility and inclusion
  • Recommend and support the use of appropriate assistive technologies
  • Prepare individualized reports and maintain detailed records
