Key Qualifications:

  • Active Georgia Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) License required
  • Previous experience working with children or youth who are blind or visually impaired preferred
  • Strong understanding of Braille, assistive technology, and strategies for differentiated instruction
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs
  • Provide direct instruction in Braille, orientation and mobility, and use of adaptive tools
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers to ensure student success
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute expertise regarding accommodations and modifications
  • Advocate for and monitor proper accommodations during assessments and daily classroom activities
  • Maintain timely documentation and progress reports
