Step into a meaningful contract opportunity supporting a single 6th-grade student who is visually impaired. This part-time role involves providing specialized instruction as a Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments (TVI), helping your student thrive both academically and personally. With a manageable schedule of two 30-minute sessions per month, you’ll have the chance to make a targeted impact while collaborating closely with educational teams.

Desired Experience & Qualifications:

  • Current, valid Georgia PSC certification with a Vision Impairment/TVI endorsement
  • Experience providing direct specialized instruction to students with visual impairments, preferably in middle school settings
  • Thorough understanding of IEPs, accessibility strategies, and assistive technology
  • Excellent communication skills for consulting with staff and monitoring progress
  • Passion for fostering inclusive learning environments

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct instruction in accordance with IEP requirements, targeting the unique needs of a 6th-grade student
  • Schedule and provide two individual 30-minute sessions per month
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to ensure classroom accommodations and accessible materials
  • Advise the educational team on the integration of assistive technologies and best accessibility practices
  • Monitor student progress and contribute updates regarding vision support needs
  • Support IEP compliance, documenting and coordinating accommodations
