Make a meaningful impact in the lives of students by supporting educational access and achievement. A part-time opportunity is available for a qualified Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments (TVI) to work with one 6th-grade student, helping ensure their academic experience is accessible and enriching.

Key Qualifications:

  • Hold a valid Georgia PSC certification with the appropriate Vision Impairment/TVI endorsement.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering specialized instruction to students with visual impairments.
  • Knowledge of current best practices, assistive technology, and accessibility strategies.
  • Skilled in collaboration and communication with school teams and families.
  • Understanding of IEP requirements and compliance in educational settings.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized, direct instruction and support to a 6th-grade student with a visual impairment, following all IEP mandates and student needs.
  • Conduct two 30-minute specialized sessions per month, focusing on skill-building and access.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and staff to foster an inclusive, accessible learning environment and ensure the provision of required accommodations.
  • Consult on assistive technology and strategies for enhancing classroom participation and achievement.
  • Monitor academic progress, adjust supports as needed, and provide updates to the student’s school team.
  • Support compliance with all IEP services, documentation, and accommodations.
