Key Qualifications:
- Valid Educator Certification and National Certification essential
- Previous experience as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired, or closely related role preferred
- Ability to pass a district background check and meet all time-sensitive credentialing requirements
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with educators, support staff, and families
- Adaptability to manage potentially varying caseload sizes or multiple campuses
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction and support to students with visual impairments, adapting materials and curriculum to optimize access
- Assess, develop, and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in coordination with interdisciplinary teams
- Serve as a resource for teachers and staff, providing strategies and training to foster an inclusive environment
- Utilize both traditional and assistive technology to supplement instruction and student development
- Monitor progress and adjust teaching approaches based on student needs and responses
- Communicate regularly with families, ensuring alignment in educational goals and progress
