Key Qualifications:

• Valid Educator Certification and National Certification essential
• Previous experience as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired, or closely related role preferred
• Ability to pass a district background check and meet all time-sensitive credentialing requirements
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with educators, support staff, and families
• Adaptability to manage potentially varying caseload sizes or multiple campuses

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction and support to students with visual impairments, adapting materials and curriculum to optimize access
• Assess, develop, and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in coordination with interdisciplinary teams
• Serve as a resource for teachers and staff, providing strategies and training to foster an inclusive environment
• Utilize both traditional and assistive technology to supplement instruction and student development
• Monitor progress and adjust teaching approaches based on student needs and responses
• Communicate regularly with families, ensuring alignment in educational goals and progress
