Qualifications:

  • Active Maryland teaching certification required

Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized instruction to students with visual impairments, individually or in small groups
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to develop and implement educational plans
  • Adapt instructional materials and classroom environments to facilitate access for visually impaired students
  • Conduct functional vision assessments and participate in IEP meetings
  • Monitor and document student progress, adjusting instructional strategies as needed
  • Advise and support school personnel and families in understanding visual impairment accommodations
