This full-time, onsite contract position offers the opportunity to make an immediate and lasting impact on students' lives while working closely alongside other dedicated professionals. You’ll support a diverse group of learners, adapting instruction and resources to ensure accessibility and meaningful educational experiences for all.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
  • Previous experience working with children who are visually impaired is highly preferred
  • Strong ability to adapt educational materials and instructional strategies
  • Excellent communication skills and collaborative mindset
  • Flexibility to work as a floating support, with caseloads to be determined based on student needs
  • Ability to travel within the local area to support multiple students if needed

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct and consultative instruction to students with visual impairments across various educational settings
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, staff, and families to implement effective accommodations and individualized education plans
  • Assess, plan, and monitor progress on student goals and skills development
  • Support students in building essential life skills, orientation and mobility, and use of assistive technology
  • Maintain thorough documentation and contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings
