This full-time contract opportunity focuses on providing expertise in vision-related instruction, assessment, and accessibility for students from early childhood through high school. You’ll serve as a vital resource, collaborating closely with educational teams and families while ensuring every student’s individual needs are met for the 2026-2027 school year.

Qualifications & Preferred Experience

• Active Colorado DOE Certification with endorsement as a Special Education Specialist – Visual Impairment (ages 0-21)
• Master’s degree or higher in special education visual impairment or equivalent (from a regionally accredited institution)
• Experience with educational assessments, IEP development, and support planning for visually impaired students
• Orientation & Mobility (O&M) Certification is highly preferred, though not required
• Proven commitment to fulfilling a full academic year contract
• Willingness to complete all district credentialing, including background check and fingerprinting

Key Responsibilities

• Administer vision-related assessments and interpret findings to inform individualized education planning
• Design and implement specialized instruction, including core curriculum adaptations for students with visual impairments and additional disabilities
• Teach essential life skills and provide orientation/mobility support in both school and community settings
• Adapt educational environments and materials to promote accessible learning for students at all levels
• Collaborate with families, teachers, and support staff to maximize student success
• Communicate progress, maintain compliance documentation, and align with district strategic goals
