Teacher for the Visually Impaired | Dumfries, Virginia

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Current Virginia Department of Education certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) required
• Experience serving students with visual impairments in PreK–12th grade settings preferred
• Strong assessment, instruction, and consultative skills across a range of student abilities
• Must begin VA Dept. of Social Services background check and complete a TB test promptly
• Adaptability and strong communication skills for working with multiple schools and diverse student needs

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized educational plans (IEPs) for students with visual impairments
• Provide direct instruction and/or consultative services as specified in student IEPs
• Collaborate with educators, staff, and families to maximize student success and access
• Document progress and maintain compliance with district, state, and federal guidelines
