This contract position is ideal for a dynamic Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) who is passionate about delivering meaningful instruction and consultation to students ranging from PreK to 12th grade. Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Current Virginia Department of Education certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) required
- Experience serving students with visual impairments in PreK–12th grade settings preferred
- Strong assessment, instruction, and consultative skills across a range of student abilities
- Must begin VA Dept. of Social Services background check and complete a TB test promptly
- Adaptability and strong communication skills for working with multiple schools and diverse student needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized educational plans (IEPs) for students with visual impairments
- Provide direct instruction and/or consultative services as specified in student IEPs
- Collaborate with educators, staff, and families to maximize student success and access
- Document progress and maintain compliance with district, state, and federal guidelines
