Desired Qualifications:

• Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
• Experience delivering individualized educational programs (IEPs) for students with visual impairments
• Familiarity with assistive technology and adaptive materials for visually impaired learners
• Ability to assess students’ functional vision and adapt curriculum accordingly
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with students, parents, and multidisciplinary teams
• Commitment to fostering academic achievement and independence for each student

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction to students with visual impairments in various school settings
• Conduct functional vision assessments and contribute to IEP processes
• Adapt classroom materials and lesson plans to ensure accessibility
• Advise and support classroom teachers, offering strategies and resources for inclusion
• Teach students to use assistive devices and technologies
• Facilitate orientation and mobility training in collaboration with certified professionals
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and services delivered
