Qualifications & Experience:
- Current certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Previous experience working with children or youth with visual impairments in school settings
- Strong understanding of Braille instruction and assistive technology for visually impaired students
- Ability to create and modify individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Excellent collaboration, communication, and organizational skills
- Adaptable and proactive approach to meeting diverse student needs
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instructional services and consultative support to students with visual impairments from PreK-12
- Assess students’ functional vision levels and learning needs
- Adapt general education curriculum and recommend accessible materials or technology
- Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, therapists, and parents to develop and implement IEP goals
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation
- Participate in team meetings, training, and school-wide initiatives to support student success
