Teacher of the Visually Impaired in Dyess Afb, TX

Step into a meaningful role supporting students with visual impairments as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired this academic year. Qualifications & Experience:

• Current certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
• Previous experience working with children or youth with visual impairments in school settings
• Strong understanding of Braille instruction and assistive technology for visually impaired students
• Ability to create and modify individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Excellent collaboration, communication, and organizational skills
• Adaptable and proactive approach to meeting diverse student needs

Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct instructional services and consultative support to students with visual impairments from PreK-12
• Assess students’ functional vision levels and learning needs
• Adapt general education curriculum and recommend accessible materials or technology
• Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, therapists, and parents to develop and implement IEP goals
• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation
• Participate in team meetings, training, and school-wide initiatives to support student success
