Make a lasting difference in students’ lives as a dedicated Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) in a full-time, in-person contract role for the entire school year. This opportunity offers the chance to provide essential support to visually impaired students, collaborating with school teams to foster inclusive and accessible learning environments.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Teaching Certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired
  • Experience working with students who are blind or have low vision in a school setting
  • Strong knowledge of Braille, large print, assistive technology, and adaptive tools for visual impairments
  • Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills with educators, families, and students
  • Passion for empowering students with visual impairments to achieve their fullest potential

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct instruction to students with visual impairments in individual and group settings
  • Adapt curriculum materials and classroom environments to meet students’ unique needs
  • Conduct assessments to identify student needs in visual functioning and create appropriate learning strategies
  • Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, special education staff, and related service providers
  • Train staff and support teams on best practices and use of assistive technology
  • Maintain clear documentation of progress, lesson plans, and IEP goals throughout the school year
