Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) | Eastover, South Carolina

In this impactful onsite role, you'll provide individualized instruction for students and collaborate closely with school staff to support each learner's unique needs. This position offers a consistent schedule of 22.5–30 hours per week across 3–4 days, ensuring you have time to build strong connections and deliver high-quality guidance throughout the academic year until May 2027.

What you'll bring:

• Valid South Carolina certification for teaching students with visual impairments (VI)
• Previous experience supporting visually impaired students in a school setting
• Strong ability to adapt instructional materials and resources
• Effective communication skills for working with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
• Dedication to fostering independence and inclusion for learners with visual challenges

Key responsibilities:

• Design and implement individualized lesson plans for students with visual impairments
• Assess students’ needs and progress, adjusting strategies accordingly
• Modify curriculum and instructional materials for accessibility
• Provide direct instruction in areas such as braille, assistive technology, and orientation/mobility skills
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and related service providers to ensure student success
• Offer guidance to families and staff on strategies for supporting students’ educational and daily living skills
